Hats

After I made the first hat I got inspired.  I started looking at blogs, and crochet boards and got so many ideas, I couldn't keep up.  I started with Santa hats and snowmen.  Here are some of the hats I've done.

Crotcheting

I'm not sure what made me want to crochet, but one day while I was shopping at Wal-Mart and decided to buy some hooks and a skein of yarn.  I tried to read a crochet book, but couldn't understand a word/abbreviation.  So, I went to YouTube and "met" my new friend Teresa, The Crochet Geek

First I learned how to do a few stitches.

Then I attempted the first hat.  I was not terrible.  Lucy wears it sometimes.

I have learned a lot since then!  It's amazing what you can find on the Internet.  It's fun telling people I learned to crochet from YouTube.

Lucy's Halloween Costume

I am not big into Halloween, but I am very big into coordinating costumes.  Rylan decided to be a football player this year, so that made Lucy the football.   She enjoyed it.

This costume can be costume made based on baby's size.  It has velcro at the bottom so the baby's legs can be out for movement or to make it easier to use with the infant seat.
Go Boilers!

Bows

I got the idea to make bows from Ryan's cousin, Brianne.  She was making them for her little girl, so she got my gears turning.  So far, I have been making bows with ribbon with the intention of using silk flowers as well.  Here are some bows I have made so far...
Each bow has a loop on the back for a clip to go through.  The clip can be attached to a headband, or directly to hair.
(I am not making the headbands.  I ordered those online.)

The First Creation

My creations began when I was very young participating in 4-H through cross stitch, quilting, embroidery, and ceramics.  Though I have not done these things in a very long time, I started feeling creative again after we started our family, and then learned our second little one was a girl.  My gears started turning and I have since put off dishes and laundry to create.
This is the first bow I made for Lucy.  I didn't have a purple one to match her outfit and we were going out.  It just continued from there.
